Based in Dwarsloop, Bushbuckridge, Rekamuka Pottery Studio is a vibey, buzzing, creative space, with an incredible team of artists who assist Simbi and Romeo with their incredible range of ceramic artworks. The space is donated by one of the community’s elders who lives on the property, who himself is a craftsman in woodworking.
Simbi and Romeo produce a variety of beautiful items for both the home, as well as the garden, which are sold in Simbi’s shop at Bosveld Centre, in Hoedspruit, as well as at the monthly Farmer’s Market. They also fulfil various commissions for businesses and individuals within the local area, but also further afield.
Both Simbi and Romeo have a passion for teaching and passing on invaluable skills that can enable people to create items that they can sell. For years, they have been donating their time to local schools in Bushbuckridge, teaching art and pottery to the children. They also believe firmly that pottery is a form of therapy and allows people to heal.
